Company Info

VBA opened for business in 2004. We have completed hundreds of major avionics alterations & installations. Our maintenance staff has years of experience in the aviation world and are at the top of their profession. We are experts in all Piper platforms for both Avionics and Maintenance. We have worked with major kit manufacturers to include Lancair and Velocity on both installations and design aspects of new products.


Richard Peavley – Owner

Has been in aviation for over 40 years. Working in both the general aviation sector and military sector installing and designing installations for avionics. Has a background on both fixed and rotor wing platforms. Since 1995 he has focused on Piper Airframes, especially the PA-46 aircraft. Managed several FAA Part 145 Certified Repair Stations before opening Vero Beach Avionics Inc. in 2004.

Currently is serving as a Board Member for the Aircraft Electronics Association(AEA), and as the Avionics Technical Representative for MMOPA. Has FAA Part 65 Repairman Certificate, FCC License, NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician certification, and Manufacturer training certificates from Garmin, Bendix/King, Avidyne, L3 Avionics, Honeywell, Aspen Avionics and Bell Helicopter/Textron.

Albert Rice – Co-Owner

Has been in aviation/electronics for over 25 years. Working in both the general aviation sector and military sector installing and designing installations for avionics systems. Has spent the past 8 years specializing on PA 46 aircraft. Helped open Vero Beach Avionics Inc. in 2004, a FAA Part 145 Certified Repair Station. FAA Part 65 Repairman Certificate, FCC License, NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician certification, and Manufacturer training certificates from Garmin, Bendix/King, Avidyne, L3 Avionics, Honeywell, and Aspen Avionics.



William Weeks – Engineering Consultant

Has been in aviation for over 20 years. Working in both the general aviation sector and military sector designing avionics installations, software (DO-178) requirements and mechanical installations as well as performing the installations. Has a background on both fixed and rotor wing platforms. Was instrumental while consulting for Lycoming in developing, installing and testing the iE2 engine on several platforms. Has run a FAA Part 145 Repair Station, managed engineering groups and owned his own engineering consultant firm before becoming a partner in VBA. Has a BAS in Software Engineering, AAS in Electronics/Avionics, Private Pilot, A&P/IA, FCC and certifications from Bendix/King, Northern Airborne Technologies, Cirrus and DO-178B training.
